I. OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

1.1. Language knowledge and skills

- learn and use vocabulary words related to diet: avoid, carbohydrate, dairy, limit, processed, protein.

- practice reading for main ideas and details.

- improve communication, collaboration, logical thinking, and collaborative discussion.

- develop an understanding of a healthy diet.

1. Teacher’s aids: Student’s book and Teacher’s book, class CDs, Digital Book (DCR phần mềm tương tác SB, DHA (từ vựng/ cấu trúc) phần mềm trò chơi tương tác), projector/interactive whiteboard / TV (if any), PowerPoint slides.

a. Objective: Ss preview and learn the layout of the lesson including vocabulary and the article.

c. Expected outcomes: Ss can talk about foods and diets using the new vocabulary.

d. Organization of the activity:

- Demonstrate the activity.

- Have Ss read the sentences, then match the sentences on the left to the ones on the right.

- Correct Ss’ pronunciation.

Note: For a non-digital classroom (without DCR). T can write the words on the board for Ss to guess. Then correct the answers with the whole class.

Task b. In pairs. Talk about which foods you limit or avoid eating and say why.

- Have Ss work in pairs. Ss take turns talking about the question with their partner.

- Have Ss share their answers with the class, then have Ss invite another pair to read their answers.
